We had numerous discussions about the mentor selection process. We realized that though 'Content is King,' the crucial part is a mediator of this content, the Mentors.
WHO can do justice to this syllabus as a mentor?
What are the qualifying points for a mentor?
These were the usual debatable questions we spoke about, and we finally came to a common conclusion, as follows:
- Mentors should be experienced and subject matter experts
- Experienced as Home bakers themselves to address the dilemma and add value
We started looking at the curriculum in parts to find subject matter experts. This time we reviewed profiles along with the merit of their name. For example, in cake decorating, we saw the various aspects of it: Fondant Cake, Whipping Cream Techniques, Buttercream Techniques, Sugar flowers, and Royal Icing Techniques.
After numerous interactions with experienced Bakers & Cake Artists, we listed the best. Then put a lot of thought into their expertise & arrived at our Eureka moment, the final 15.
We were one step closer to the Bakedemy learning model, but it wasn't the time to rest yet. It was time to agree on the learning model, a conversation for another day.
